Everyone has different reactions to mosquitoes. Some people are hardly ever bothered. I am not one of those lucky few.
For me, despite every precaution brought on by rumor or good sense (we’re talking Avon’s Skin So Soft to putting dryer sheets in your pockets to carrying around the little ‘zone’ fans sold by Off), they are drawn to my skin like a man’s eyes are to big boobs.
Best part? Even if I catch them quickly, before they have fully ‘feasted’ on me, the result is a welt the size of a golf ball or larger.
Today’s note is inspired by one of the little buggers that caught me on my hairline yesterday evening during the dog walk…and yes, I now have a goose-egg on my forehead that is LARGE. Oh, and did I mention that today I will be meeting 30 people for work for the very first time? Lovely first impression I’ll make. “Hello, my name is Egor.” Sigh.
Thanks, mosquitoes, for keeping it real. You stink.
Second round note: latest tip I received was to take Vitamin B Complex vitamin daily to make myself ‘stink’ to the buggers. So far it seems to be helping…although I probably won’t really know until next summer, now. Hope springs eternal, though!
